Punggol residents who experienced brownish tap water yesterday may still have residual discoloured water, said PUB on Fri. It apologised for the problem which began nearly 24 hours earlier, at around 2pm on Thurs. The discoloured water was caused by suspended mineral sediments due to valve operations on a potable water pipe along Tampines Expressway on Thurs, to facilitate the connection of a newly laid pipe. It recommended that affected residents run their taps until the water is clear. PUB says it will provide rebates to all customers in the affected blocks.
