The Department of Architecture at NUS School of Design and Environment on Wed launched a sourcebook for designing nursing homes for high-rise, high-density Asian cities like Singapore. The sourcebook, Re-Imagining the Nursing Home in Singapore, is the culmination of a semester-long project by 131 third-year architecture students who developed creative and practical designs after research with local nursing homes. Senior Minister of State for Health Amy Khor was the guest of honour at the launch of the book, which includes eight case studies of nursing homes in Singapore, 58 creative designs and design templates for elderly care facilities.
