Changi Airport sits on a limited plot of land, and Changi Airport Group has to optimise the available space for capacity expansion to handle growing aviation traffic in future. As part of plans to cater for sufficient capacity with the closure of the open-air carpark, an area near the existing T2 Car Park 2A was identified. This is the recently opened South Car Park with 230 parking spaces. Due to its location, the open-air South Car Park offers a lower parking rate than the other multi-storey carparks. Regarding Mr Ong’s suggestion to use the land next to the airport police station, this site will be used to construct more aircraft parking stands to cater for more aircraft operating at Changi Airport....
