We thank Mr Donny Ho Boon Tiong for his letter (Do repair works at the same time; May 25). Town councils carry out regular repair and redecoration (R&) works to keep HDB estates in good condition. These works include repainting, reroofing, rewiring and lift improvements for the residential blocks. Where feasible, HDB works with the town councils to synchronise these works. However, it is not possible to do this all the time, as multi-storey carparks and residential blocks have different maintenance needs. At times, works for carparks within an area are grouped together for economies of scale, rather than aligned with the works for residential blocks.
