A migrant worker who just arrived from India last month was found to have Covid-19 this week after he started work in the construction line. It was the first case at a foreign worker dormitory since Dec 15 and was among the 38 new cases reported on Wed by MOH. The rest of the 37 cases were imported. The migrant worker, who is a work permit holder, was detected as part of its Rostered Routine Testing of workers, MOH said. He has no known links to past infections here yet. The man had arrived from India on Dec 11 and served his stay-home notice at a dedicated facility until Dec 25. The swab test done during his isolation period came back negative. The man was staying at Seatown Dormitory in Tuas and had started work in the construction sector on Jan 6. However, a Covid-19 test taken on Jan 12 as part of the rostered testing of workers came back positive for the coronavirus.
